I bought this classic Landy in 2009 on a bit of a whim, totally unseen,  from a listing on a well known internet auction site!

Obviously that was a bit risky but I did get it for just a little over £200! When I bought it, it did have the radiator apron and bumper on. This picture was taken after I'd started to dismantle it to replace the dumb irons. I bought it knowing from the listing it had quite a bit of work to do before it would be anywhere near road worthy but as I wanted to get a Landy ready to enter The Mac4x4 Challenge the following year I wasn't too worried.

It turned out there was a lot of work to do, much more than I had anticipated! However I set about sourcing parts and even sold my beloved 1980 Honda Superdream to fund the project.

At the same time I launched a website to try and promote support for the fund raising needed to enter The Mac4x4 christening the old 109 'Classic 109'. I managed to get a few regular followers as I carried out the work and detailed progress on the site but circumstances were to change for me and I ended up selling Classic 109 to fund a part time business and so ended Classic 109. I vowed that if the business can to be sold then I would replace Classic 109 and hopefully eventually enter The Mac4x4.
